Karan Johar revealed details regarding Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji’s secret wedding in 2014. On this episode of Koffee With Karan 8, which included Rani Mukerji and Kajol as guests, Karan Johar offered insight into this eventful year for Aditya and Rani Chopra’s marriage in 2014.

Karan Johar shared details from Rani Mukerji and Kajol’s 2014 secret wedding ceremony to Aditya Chopra at Koffee. Karan 8 featured Rani as a guest, and only 18 were invited to this intimate destination wedding ceremony in India.

Karan spoke on the show and revealed: “Aditya is my best friend in all the world. When Rani and Adi got married at their destination wedding years later – an initiative started by them if nobody knows otherwise – no mention was ever made as I fear Aditya could still fire me years later if ever any photograph or memorabilia of Rani or Aditya from our Diwali trips were published publicly”.

“He told me: ‘Our wedding will soon take place with 18 guests attending. If word gets out about this wedding, you will break it,” Karan stated. Newspapers then dominated newsfeeds, so he became “hyper and hyperventilating with excitement about speaking about my own event!” “When newspapers began dominating newsfeeds, I became totally hyper and overexcited!” he concluded.

“I didn’t tell my own mother about Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji’s wedding until after it had already occurred. In 2014, April – 2 States released and forced me to postpone its release weekend by going instead to Manchester where friends had organized an event,” he recounted. “Everyone asked why this had to be planned during release weekend – all this confusion over making up events. “On release weekend, why are you going?” I answered everyone was confused because it made sense in my own head that this had to happen”.

On April 18, 2014, Aditya and Rani tied the knot and announced their pregnancy, just a year after becoming parents to Adira!
