Telangana assembly elections 2023: Voting is underway, with a turnout of 20.64% recorded until 11 am. clashes have emerged from Kamareddy and Jangaon.

Telangana Elections 2023 Live: BRS workers denied state Congress president-party candidate Revanth Reddy’s brother, Kondal Reddy, access to the Kamareddy polling booth because he wasn’t registered as a voter here or allowed. A similar scuffle broke out between workers from Congress, BJP, and BRS at one polling station in Jangaon earlier in the day.

Telangana Elections 2023 Live Update: As per the Election Commission, 20.64 percent of voters had cast ballots by 11 am today.

BRS workers stopped Kondal Reddy, Revanth Reddy’s brother, who ran as state Congress president-party candidate against Revanth Reddy, from visiting the Kamareddy polling booth as they claimed he isn’t allowed as an eligible voter and, therefore, cannot visit.

“According to one BRS worker, Kondal Reddy was seen roaming around with fake passes in hand while speaking with the Returning Officer and speaking to 20 others accompanying him; these individuals visited three polling stations but weren’t told anything by police; after arriving here they engaged in hooliganism until we got police involved; his people were arrested but then released within 10 minutes, so we lodged complaints with Election Commission.”

On-going polling activity resulted in violence between workers of BRS and Congress in Rangareddy district. Police personnel quickly arrived on site.

An early incident between Congress, BJP, and BRS workers at a polling station in Jangaon led to physical altercations, which were only resolved following police intervention.
